Objective
- This Program is designed to
train competent personnel in the safe handling of oxygen and the preparation
of EANx.
Prerequisites
- Must have a need to become a
blender (such as working for an EANx training or full service facility, or if
not affiliated with a facility must be a qualified Advanced EANx Diver and
located in a remote area).
- Must be recommended by an IANTD
Instructor or Facility.
- To be qualified to service
specific brands or equipment for EANx use, the blender must be a Qualified
Technician with the manufacturer of the equipment being serviced.

- IANTD Gas Blender
Workbook and Manual.
Plus the following is
highly recommended:
- IANTD Nitrox Blending
Handbook.
- Program Content
- This Program must
include a minimum of 2 hours of hands-on experience preparing EANx.
- A written test must be
passed with a minimum score of 80%, and must demonstrate mixing
capability.
- Equipment Requirements
- IANTD-approved mixing
station.
- Oxygen analyzer.
- All equipment used in
this Program must be compatible with the EANx mixtures being prepared
and the method in which the EANx is being blended.
Program Limits
Blenders may not perform
duties other than cylinder cleaning, visual inspections and gas mixing
unless qualified as a Technician with the manufacturer of the
equipment being prepared for EANx use.
